Bromley, Lewisham & Greenwich Mind are working in partnership with South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) to deliver an innovative new Primary Care Mental Health Service for Lewisham.

We have an exciting opportunity to work as part of an integrated team providing support to people with long-term mental health problems within a primary care setting, supporting people to develop their independence, self-management skills and achieve their recovery goals.

We are looking for a part-time Peer Support Worker to work alongside Bromley, Lewisham & Greenwich Mind and SLaM colleagues to deliver this service.

The 18.5 hours would be worked over three days. Those three days would be in a fixed pattern every week, but there is some flexibility both over what that pattern is, and any agreed alterations to that pattern.

The successful candidate will provide recovery-orientated peer support to people with long-term mental health problems, facilitating access to community activities and emotional support. You will also need to recruit and facilitate volunteers to undertake this work as well. Supporting volunteers may include mentoring and coaching.

Staff benefits include:

  • a matched contribution pension scheme
  • 25 days’ holiday (pro-rata, rising with service)
  • quality supervision and training opportunities.

Successful applicants will be expected to undergo an Enhanced level Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
