With an annual turnover of more than £3m, over 120 staff and 200 volunteers, we are one of the largest charities in the Mind network.
Bromley, Lewisham & Greenwich Mind provides Peer Support (group activities and therapeutic groups) run by Peer Support Volunteers for individuals in the Royal Borough of Greenwich with either a mental health diagnosis or who are impacted by mental health issues.
Bromley, Lewisham and Greenwich Mind are seeking Peer Support Group Volunteers, who either have lived experience of mental health issues, or who are or have been service users in mental health services. Having specialist skills and experience for the Peer Groups listed below would be advantageous.
- Art and Craft Group (Wednesdays 2pm – 4pm)
- Weekly Gardening Group (Thursdays 10am – 12 noon – monthly in the winter and weekly in the summer)
The role of the Peer Support Group Volunteer is to assist with the running of an interest or therapeutic group through social interaction with clients to ensure a safe and welcoming environment, and to work with other volunteers to deliver activities which relate to the group’s interests.
You will receive support in your role from a dedicated service manager who will offer guidance and training as needed to help you in the role.
Successful applicants will be expected to undergo an Enhanced Level Disclosure and Barring Service check.
