Expiry date
£18,685 per annum

Job details

  • Fixed term contract for 12 months
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • London Borough of Lewisham

Lewisham MindCare is a dementia support service offering information about dementia and helping our clients access other local services that may be relevant to their individual needs and interests.  We try to offer as much support as possible to our clients in order to help them live well with dementia. This includes encouraging them to socialise and participate in group activities as appropriate and helping them to maintain physical and mental ability for as long as they are able.

We are looking for a Community Support Worker to join our friendly and motivated team. You will have daily contact with clients, visit people in their homes and escort clients to appointments and social activities. You will have a reasonable understanding of the needs of a person with dementia, with a patient, tolerant and flexible approach. You will be confident in a range of difficult situations and have strong communication skills.

This is a full-time post and will involve daily travel across the borough for which fares will be paid.  A good level of physical fitness is also required, as a large amount of walking will be inevitable and the ability to manage stairs is essential.

Staff benefits include a matched contribution pension scheme, 25 days’ holiday (pro-rata, rising with service), quality supervision and training opportunities. See our website for more reasons to work for Bromley & Lewisham Mind.
