Councillor Kim Botting, who recently served as Mayor of Bromley from 2018/2019, had selected Bromley, Lewisham & Greenwich (BLG) Mind as one her Charities of the Year. Throughout her year in office, Councillor Botting held a number of events, raised awareness about mental health and dementia, raising an outstanding £15,000 for BLG Mind.

The money will be spent on our services in the London Borough of Bromley, particularly:

  1. MindCare Dementia Support Centres and Respite at Home, helping people diagnosed to live well with dementia and giving family carers a much needed break from the 24/7 demands of supporting their relatives.
  2. Peer Support for people with mental health problems, providing social contact for people who are isolated and mutual support to enable people to manage their own mental health.

Ben Taylor, Chief Executive of BLG Mind, said, “We are very appreciative of Councillor Botting’s fundraising efforts. The money raised will help us make a real difference to local people affected by mental health problems or dementia. Using the money to continue providing our Bromley mental health and dementia services will provide a very fitting legacy from a fantastic fundraising effort.”
