Bromley & Lewisham Mind will shortly be providing employment support for people experiencing mental health problems, to find and maintain work.
Funded by the City Bridge Trust and working in partnership with the Centre for Mental Health and Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, Bromley & Lewisham Mind will be supporting people across Bromley with severe and enduring mental health problems, to progress into paid employment and support them whilst in work.
The barriers to employment faced by people with mental health issues can be multiple and complex, but many challenges can be overcome with the right support and lead to new, positive life opportunities.
The programme will use the Individual Placement Support (IPS) approach which international and UK research has found to be more effective than other methods at supporting people with mental health problems into work.
The new funding will enable us to recruit three new staff, working with Oxleas Community Mental Health teams. Between them, they are expected to help 100 people secure paid jobs over the two years of the project.
Recruitment is currently underway, with roles advertised and open for application until 29th August, on the Centre for Mental Health website.
