More Mental Health Support for Pregnant Women & New Mothers in Bromley

Bromley & Lewisham Mind is currently launching the Mindful Mums project to support pregnant women and new mums stay well and prevent any mental health problems from developing, during what can be a challenging time.

In July 2016, Bromley & Lewisham Mind will also be launching a new Perinatal Community Support Service for pregnant women and new mums who have diagnosed or recognised mental health problems.

The funding for this service has been provided by Bromley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and the service will work closely with the new NHS Oxleas Specialist Perinatal services.

Drawing on experience delivering highly regarded existing services, Bromley & Lewisham Mind will provide social, practical and emotional support to an estimated 40-50 women each year.

Women will be able to access:

  • individual support based on their needs and goals
  • support to access other relevant services
  • group sessions to learn from and share with other women going through similar experiences.

We will be recruiting a staff member to deliver this project soon.
